Cut & Paste Issues Visio Professional 2013

I'm having issues when cut & paste a drawing made with an older version of visio (.vsd file format) to a visio professional 2013 drawing (.vsdx file format). See attached image. The drawing is transferred over, but the format is changed: text color not preserved, shadows are added, rounded corners not preserved, line weight is changed, etc. How can I prevent visio from changing the format? I've tried many things, like converting the .vsd to .vsdx before cut & paste. The closest that I've come to was using paste special

  • microsoft visio drawing. It fixes most of the format issues, but text size doesn't transfer very well, arrow heads are separated from lines, etc. Is there a way to do this?

Hi, Daniel!

Please before paste check is new vsdx-document use themes ?

If yes you have 2 ways:

  1. Remove theme: To remove a theme from a selected page, select Design >No Theme.

  1. Prevent themes from affecting a new shape.
  2. Select Design.
  3. In the Themes group, select More.
  4. Select Apply Theme to New Shapes, if necessary, to clear it.

No te: New shapes will not be formatted with a theme.
