Yet again another pathetic response from MSFT!!!!

Why REMOVE a package from being available?? Come on, it isn't like storage space is expensive!!

We are not asking for continued updates, but at least keep things available that were available!!!

If this is how you treat customers (i.e. try to force us to update) then you have zero chance of keeping me as a customer.

    Pathetic!!!

It is not available from Microsoft any more, as far as I know, but you can get it from download sites such as FileHippo: https://filehippo.com/download_office_compatibility_pack/

Be careful when downloading from such a site.

Download LibreOffice. Its free and is good as, if not better, than Microsoft office. Office 2003 is no longer supported by Microsoft so docx files etc will continue to be a problem.

When I install the latest compatibility packs sp3, it pops up message "There are no products affected by this package installed on this system".

    compatibilitypacksp3-kb2526297-fullfile-en-us.exe

When I install the older compatibility, it installed successfully, but when Excel still fail to open xlsx file.

    FileFormatConverters.exe

2003, apart from no updates of any type, as its out of support and is not fully compatible with win10, and unless you did a custom install you will probably be in for problems with the various file locations
