I would appreciate help with this issue

We are trying to create a global cover page within Microsoft word that all employees can use.

I created a custom cover page and currently, if you click "Insert-> Cover Page->" it appears perfectly. But when I send it to someone, it disappears.

How can we make the custom cover page appear for everyone through different versions?

Thanks for advance 😊

    Hi MedAO2019,

Thanks for posting in the community, we are glad to offer help.

May I know have you checked above members’ suggestions? To be clear, you can follow the steps below to create a template contains your custom cover page, and then send it to your employees:

    1.    Open Word to create a new document

    2.    Save the document as *.dotx or *.dotm file

    3.    Create your custom cover page and select all

    4.    Go to Insert > Cover Page > Save Selection to Cover Page Gallery

    5.    In the “Save in” drop-down box, select the current file

    6.    Save the file and send to others, they can double-click the template you sent to create a new document with the cover page you inserted.

Please keep feel free to leu us know if it is helpful, your response could also help those who have the same question in this community.

    Best Regards,

    Arck

I would not call it a "global template" as that has a particular meaning in Word - an Add-in.

What the OP could do is create a template that contains the cover page and make that template available to the users, either by sending it to them individually, or, if a WorkGroup Templates folder is being used, saving a copy of it in that folder.

Or you could create a global template that users can use to create new documents with the cover page.

Both suggestions require a shared global template.

Here are a couple of articles about global templates

Unfortunately the names used are not obvious. I've been puzzled about it for a while now and finally tripped over some answers. This wiki summarizes what I've found.

Groups of workers usually use the same templates. But it can be time-consuming to keep everyone updated when templates are installed separately on each desktop. Instead, you can implement shared workgroup templates with a feature already built into Office.

The cover page must be stored as a building block within a template that you share with employees.
