Edit Points not working in PPT

Our team uses Office 365 and within the last couple weeks I have had an issue with editing points on shapes.  When I right click on a point to to open a path or delete the point, the options come up but immediately gray out and I am unable to select anything.  I have had coworkers have similar issues along with other functionality that is not performing correctly.  Please advise if this is a glitch and what can be done to resolve it.

Hi Christy Kozlowski, I had the same anoying issue with PPT, then unchecked my installed add-ins one by one as suggested, and found that the "Productivity Tools" add-in, from CISCO Webex, was the responsible for that problem, in my case. As I think this add-in is not useful inside PPT, i just disabled it and this solved the problem.

    Hi Christy,

    Thanks for providing the information.

Since you can edit points correctly in PowerPoint within the safe mode, there may be some problems with the add-ins you've installed. In PowerPoint, click on File > Options > Add-ins, you can manage the add-ins you have. Try to uncheck add-ins one by one and re-open PowerPoint to check the result. Thus, you can tell which add-in the problem occurs on.

And according to Update history for Office 365 ProPlus, the latest version of Semi-annual channel is 1908(11929.20648), you can contact your administrator to update your Office to the latest version to try to solve the problem.

    Best regards,

    Madoc

Hello, and yes, I am still having the issue.  I use that functionality quite often.  Any guidance you could offer would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Hi Christy,

Sorry for the inconvenience it may have caused.

I did a test with the latest version of PowerPoint, but I cannot reproduce the same problem.

To troubleshoot the issue you encountered, there are some suggestions you can take:

    1. Update Office to the latest version. With Office updated, some issues would get resolved. So it’s a good idea to keep Office up to date.

Open PowerPoint in safe mode to exclude the issue is related to some third-party add-ins. Then check the result.

    3. Perform Office Online Repair to fix the problem.

If the issue persists, we need to collect some information to further check it:

    1. Which version of Office do you have? After starting PowerPoint, click on File > Account, please take a screenshot of the Product Information part and share it with us.
    2. Can you edit points within shapes on other Office apps like Excel correctly?

    Appreciate your understanding.

    Best regards,

    Madoc
