screen view differs from print view and printed document in Word 2016

I have Word 2016 on my computer at work.  Whenever I prepare a long document the print view and the printed hard copy do not match what is shown on my screen.  After reading a similar question on this site, I "saved as" and created a .pdf version of the document.  That didn't work either.  The same issues still existed.  I have standard 1" settings all around and I am printing on 8.5 x 11 paper.  I removed all paragraph settings that deal with "keep this together with the next line."  No improvement.  My printer settings all appear normal and I don't have this problem with smaller 1 or 2 page documents, only with larger documents.  This document is about 97 pages long.

At the bottom of some pages I included several lines/returns so that the heading would be pushed to the next page and be displayed with the pertinent information.  When I select the "print" and look at the print view, it still shows the heading on the previous page.  I have to go back into the normal view and add a couple of more lines to push it to the next page in print view.  However, that messes up the document by pushing the next page contents onto another page.

Appreciate any help.  Thanks.

Robert

I did but it didn't work.  When I went to the folder where I saved the screenshot, it would not recognize the document as an uploadable document either as a .docx or a .pdf and wouldn't offer to save it as a .jpg.

I took a couple of screenshots and saved them - once as a word document and once as a .pdf but your website will not recognize them for uploading.  When I tried to save as a .jpg, the system would not give that as a choice.  Any suggestions?

You can take a screen shot of a couple of pages, with nonprinting marks displayed, so that we can have a closer look.

However, as Charles said, this will be difficult to diagnose further unless you share an example document.

It is impossible, or at least very difficult, to tell without seeing the document.

Is there any hidden text in your document that is being displayed?

To ensure that a heading is always on the same page as its "subordinate" text, add "Keep with next" formatting to the heading. You'll find that option in the Paragraph dialog box.

Note that if you are creating spacing between text paragraphs by pressing Enter more than once (which is not recommended), you will have to apply "Keep with next" to multiple paragraphs.
