I purchased this HP computer in 2014 with full rights to Microsoft Office.  Today, an error message at the top of my document reads:  "Trial Period has expired.  This trial of Microsoft Office is expired. Editing in Word has been disabled.  Buy."  What is going on?

It's likely that a trial version of Office, maybe Microsoft 365, has been installed on your computer beside Office 2010, and that's what is expired.

Go to Windows Start > Settings > Apps and look for an Office entry that isn't 2010. If you find one, click it and then click Uninstall.

This should not affect Office 2010 or any of your documents. If 2010 shows any odd behavior, though, run a Quick Repair (https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Repair-an-Office-application).
