Hi Community Team

Hoping you can help me out. I have just created an access database and have moved to sharepoint.

  1. I entered a new client in the client info table however now this client is not appearing in the form. I have tried all the online suggestions however it still has not appeared?
  2. Once on sharepoint how can I make changes to the data type in one of my tables?

Thank you Leah Pappas

First, the problem is not SharePoint, per se. However, depending on what you mean by "...moved to sharepoint" there could be a problem related to that.

So, how DID you move to SharePoint? What does that mean? Did you export your Access tables to SharePoint lists using the Wizard in the ribbon? If so, did the newly created SharePoint list replace the previous native Access tables in the accdb which is the Front End?

Assuming that is how you did it, you can turn your attention to the form's data properties, as shown here.

Experiment with the various "Allow..." and "Data Entry" properties to determine if that is the problem here.

    Hi Leah,

    I apologize for the inconvenience.

As per your description, when you entered data in form not updating table in access. May I know which access version database you are using. To check please open access>File> account and share a screenshot with us.

If you are inserting data into several related tables via a single form then, rather than basing the form on a query which joins the tables, subforms should be used to insert data into the referencing tables.

Please try to check the table If the record is not in the table, then the table was not updated.

Also, please refer to this article and see if help: How to troubleshoot errors that may occur when you update data in Access queries and forms

Regarding to make changes to data type, you can change data type in access locally and then uploaded again once you save your changes to SharePoint, you may refer to this article and see if help:

Modify or change the data type setting for a field

I appreciate your patience and understanding.

    Best Regards

    Waqas Muhammad
