Unauthorized charges to bank checking account from Microsoft.

Hello,

For several months I have been getting fraudulent charges on my checking account from Microsoft. First it was just $9.99. I issued a stop payment, thinking that this would stop it, but it hasn't. The fraud has gotten worst, and now (according to my bank, it has gone to $69.99). Each time I get a ten dollar fee to stop this nonsense.

I have never (since the nasty incident with a gym back in the eighties) given my bank account information to purchase anything. I always use a credit card, so this is not my charge.

This is not the first time this has happened. The last time I was able to reach a human, and the problem was solved. Then it came back with a vengeance.

My son was able to access the billing info from the website, and no purchases are shown.

What gives? Is the only way to get rid of this to cancel my bank account of more than forty years?

Thank you for any help you can give.

Signed,

Disgruntled Customer

We have experienced the same.  We have changed debit cards linked to our checking account 3 times, have never used debit cards on the account after the first time Microsoft exploited people, and have only used gift cards for my son's account.  Still, Microsoft is able to steal money from my checking account.  They continue to this day.    These are not reoccurring charges.  Microsoft employs deceptive practices and predatory practices.

    Hello,

I have been discussing with my Banking Institution, for an Unauthorized charge that occur on Friday the 21st of August. There were $20.00 charge from Microsoft, a $1.44 and a $0.01charges from Movember Group from Richmond. My Bank is asking to identify important information about this transaction, what was purchased, who's name was purchased under, where was shipped (if its a physical item), what email address was use and what was the form of payment use. Please help me resolve this issue.

    Thank you.

If you have an MS Account you need to access that account, and view Help for who to contact.

And if the MS Account shows no purchases then I suspect the MS Account password etc would need changing

It doesn't necessarily mean that your bank details were taken from some previous purchase.

On this side of the pond such a charge at the bank could be blocked for any/all charges from that supplier/MS
