How to buy Office 2010?

I need Office 2010. Is there a LEGAL way to obtain it?

The reason: after Office 2010, they have messed up many features, there are various, one I remember now, and probably the most annoying, is the default zoom in which you save a document.

Office 2010 is the last Office which stores the information of the zoom IN the document, but from 2013 and beyond, they appears to store the zoom in the program, not in each document, for example:

Document 1, zoom 100%, save.

Document 2, zoom 160%, save.

Re-open Document 1, and it appears at 160% allmesseduppp!!!

Exactly, no macros will be saved in the document. I don't pretend to understand all the details in Jay's code, but I believe that document variables are being used to store some information in each document. This will be perfectly safe.

Of course, reinstalling an older version of Office will also work. Keep in mind that older versions will be out of support sooner or later, though.

Have you installed the add-in (*.dotm template) by placing it in Word's Startup folder? Doing so will load the add-in each time you start Word and the included macro code will ensure that the zoom is saved with individual documents. You will have to explicitly set the zoom (and view) on each of your documents before you save and close them. This is how older versions of Word used to work.

I can't tell you how to buy a legal copy of Office 2010 (I, too, prefer Word 2010 to previous versions), but I can at least point you to Jay Freedman’s SaveViewLocMulti.zip add-in at http://jay-freedman.info
