Is there a limit as to how many managers one can assign to a case? Is there a price you have to pay per manager assigned?

    Based on your question, I have done many research and didn’t find related information related to eDiscovery permission limits, there are only official documents related to eDiscovery search, for your reference:  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/compliance/limits-ediscovery20?view=o365-worldwide

    If you have lots of users that need to be assigned as managers to a case, we recommend you create a mail-enabled security group and add these users to the security group, next add this mail-enabled security group as a member of the eDiscovery Managers subgroup in the eDiscovery Manager role group,  then these users in the security group are assigned to be eDiscovery Managers. Based on my experience, through this way, you don't need to concern about the manager limits.     In addition, you don’t need to pay extra fee for every manager. Welcome to feedback if have further concern.

    Hi SolarEclipseReturns,

    Yes, eDiscovery is considered confidential, in general, only administrator can select to add which person as the eDiscovery manager or administrator, other person in your organization cannot do that. So if you have concern on setting eDiscovery manager, you could ask your admin to limit which person can access sensitive information.

    There's no published limit but an organization should really limit how many people (mangers, legal, HR, others) have access to eDiscovery data. eDiscovery should be considered confidential and the minimum number of people allowed access. For my organization legal generates all the requests and there's one person in legal that is given access even though others may end up receiving the information at least there's only one person responsible and can be held accountable in case of leaks.
