Macro to get rid of text boxes after converting PDF into Word

Hello

I wonder if someone can help me with the following dilemma. When I convert a PDF into word, I'm often left with some text in boxes. This makes it very difficult to format the document.

I've tried "Control +A" and "Control + Q" but it doesn't work

I've also tried "Control A" and paste as "Unformatted Text" but it's even worse, the text that was inside text boxes simply "disappear"

I think I need a macro to turn the text inside boxes as text.  In my workplace we can't use Adobe Pro, solo PDF Docs.

This is a nightmare and I would gratefully welcome any help on the matter.

Thanks

    Hi NickittaYW,

Apologies for this. Let's see other expert's advice.

If you have Office 365, you can easily convert PDF to Word and get rid of those textboxes.

    Best Regards,

    Arnel

No I can't. That's the main issue. Thanks for trying to help.

What OCR tool are you using?

    .

The answer is pretty self evident.  SWITCH to another OCR tool!

    .

I know the last time I checked OCR tools, most took the "easy" way out and used text boxes. But there were some that did not use them or offered a user option of whether they were used or not.

    .

Consider an OCR tool that focuses on doing "text only" extraction, that requires you go back and apply formatting.

    .

I'm not being sarcastic, just offering you an option you may not have considered.

    .

It's been a while since I investigated OCR, but here are a few names I have that do offer a text option:

    .

Don't forget, OneNote does text only OCR.

    .

    OCR Space

    https://ocr.space/

Free Online OCR - Convert images and PDF to text (Powered by the OCR API)

    Input formats: .png,.jpg,.webp or .PDF

    Output:

.   Just extract text and show overlay (fastest option)

.   Create searchable PDF with visible text layer

.   Create searchable PDF with invisible text layer

    .

    2012 08 02- Omnipage File Converter (Win8 Store / Office 2013 App)http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/store/omnipage-file-converter-WA102923726.aspx

The OmniPage File Converter is a handy time-saving app that quickly extracts text from optical images and places it into a Word document. Users have the option of importing the text as formatted or plain text. Good way to quickly import text from a variety of file types (like PDFs, for example).

     .

If only it was that easy! My firm only allows us to use PDF Docs and nothing else. We are ABSOLUTELY not allowed to download something online.

Good day! I'm Raniel, an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you.

Can you try the methods on this article and see if it resolves your issue with removing the text boxes in the document by using a macro: https://wordribbon.tips.net/T009169_Removing_Al...

    I hope this helps.
