CTRL + V how to fix...

I have to cut and paste a jpg from the web into a document literally thousands of times. Initially it was going well but then for some strange reason, when I CTRL+V, I have to select to paste the picture each time (see below), instead of just CTRL+V and it automatically pastes the picture. Although this is only two each mouse clicks, over the span of the task I'm trying to complete it adds up to thousands more mouse clicks. I've tried everything but can't get it to just paste the jpeg when I use the CTRL+V keyboard shortcut. How can I fix this?

Are you saying that the paste options are set to the Word defaults? In that case, they are the same as mine.

Here, I haven't seen any changes with pasting from the web. For some web pages, pictures are brought in without issues. Other web pages are more tricky.

Which specific version and build of Office are you running? In Word, click File > Account to find out.

Generally, you should be able to paste content, including pictures, into Word. However, web pages are often different. In some situations, you have to download the pictures separately. Note that your choice of browser may be relevant. If you find that it doesn't work properly with your current browser, try a different one.

Also, in Word, what are your settings for default copy and paste, at File > Options > Advanced?

If you're not doing anything else between pastes, you could try using F4 instead of Ctrl+V. You can also disable display of the Paste Options button.

My settings are the same as yours.

I'm using Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus on Windows 10 Enterprise.

As stated earlier in the thread, it was working fine and then it started making me have to chose my pasting option each time.

I had no problems using CTRL+V to paste the picture with no issues until late yesterday afternoon. Since yesterday afternoon, when I use CTRL+V, I additionally have to select which type of Pasting (select U Picture).

The settings in File>Options>Advanced are set to Keep Source Formatting.
