Lost an entire list in Microsoft To-Do

I had an entire list on Microsoft To-Do completely vanish. This was not a case of a fat finger accidental deletion, I simply logged in and it had vanished. I'd like to be able to recover it, but so far I'm not finding anything that has worked. I've tried:

  1. Looking to make sure the list hadn't merged with another list, changed order, or gotten 'grouped' and hidden
  2. Checked my deleted folder in Outlook. This showed some deleted individual tasks, but nothing from the list that went missing.
  3. Looked through 'completed tasks' of other lists

This is incredibly frustrating. I had been using Wunderlist for years before the import and had no issues. Now after less than a month on Microsoft To-Do, I lose a very important list with apparently no backup or ability to recover it. Is there anything else I can try?

I have had the same thing happen to me. I use todo to add to my historic Wunderlists every single day. Today over 24 lists disappeared before my very eyes. They were not deleted , they simply disappeared. What the heck?

Luckily I have my original exported lists so have some of the data but have lost everything that was added to the Wunderlist lists within todo.

I am pretty sure Microsoft will not bother to fix this clear bug with your Wunderlist syncing.

I will be manually recreating the lists in a 3rd party software and deleting todo.

You take over a perfectly good piece of software, ruin it as you always do and then delete our historic data.

    Well done Microsoft.

the exact same thing happened to me this month. 7 years of data, gone. i don't have a backup of it, because i was in the middle of requesting a backup when it all disappeared.

seriously. what can we do about this? what is microsoft saying? how do we get our data back?

Same here, all entries in Microsoft To - Do have disappeared, including a lot of history. It seems to have happened due to or at the same moment as I changed the password of my e-mail. Any tips and tricks to restore the data is very much appreciated.

I have the same problem today.  All my list groups have gone, just a few random ones from years ago are there.  Never had this problem with WunderList
