Scroll between excel tabs with touchpad

Hello community,

I am working with an excel model and I have an annoying issue.

I was able to scroll the tab with the different sheets using 2 fingers on my touchpad (just the names, without actually changing the sheet) but all of the sudden this function does not work anymore. If I use 2 fingers it scrolls the area of the worksheet where I am, even if my mouse is on the sheets tab.

Can you help me? I couldn't find any solution to this online and it's really helpful to scroll the list of your tabs when you work with big excel models.

Thanks,

Luca

    Hello John,

thanks for your reply, buy my problem is actually only with excel and only with the tabs. It's not a problem related to 2 fingers scroll in general.

    Thanks,

    Luca

    Hi Luca,

I am John, an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. I'm happy to work with you on this issue.

If you suddenly cannot scroll with two fingers on your touchpad, there are ways to work around the concern.

Method 1: Change the Mouse Pointer

    1. Click Start menu
    2. Click Settings
    3. Click on Mouse & touchpad
    4. Click on Additional mouse options
    5. Click on the Pointers tab
    6. Under the Scheme, choose from Windows Black/Default/Inverted/Standard

Method 2: Enable Two Finger Scrolling

    1. Open Control Panel.
    2. View by Category and select click on Hardware and Sound.
    3. Under Devices and Printers, click Mouse.
    4. Under Devices, click Device Settings tab.
    5. Highlight Synaptics TouchPad and click on Settings button. (This applies when the touchpad driver is installed.)
    6. Expand MultiFinger Gestures, and check the box next to Two-Finger Scrolling.
    7. Click Apply button.

I hope it helps you. Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

    Regards,
    John

    3. In the ‘Run’ window type Excel /safe and press ‘enter’.

Note: there is a space between the word Excel and the /
