I am trying to view my MS Project files in my Office 365 Project App.  Is this possible?

GG COS 001 --

When you use the term, "Project Online", I suspect you are actually describing the new project management tool named Project for the Web.  If this is true, then there is no way to view Microsoft Project MPP files using Project for the Web.  Keep in mind that this tool is very new and is a "work in progress" in many ways, with Microsoft planning on adding lots of new features in the coming years.  As it exists currently, there is no way to import or export Project for the Web data with another application.  Perhaps Microsoft will add this functionality some day, but this functionality does not current exist in Project for the Web.  Sorry, but hope this helps.

GG --

It sounds like Project for the Web is definitely NOT the tool you need to accomplish your goals.  Take a look at the descriptions of Project for the Web, Project Online, and the Microsoft Project desktop client in the following article:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/servicedescriptions/project-online-service-description/project-online-service-description

Based on what you want to accomplish, I think that Project Online and Project Online Professional (formerly known as Project Professional for Office 365) is the tool combination that would work the best for you.  Keep in mind, however, that Project Online is a sophisticated enterprise project management application, and that you would benefit from enlisting the services of a capable Project Partner (such as my company, Projility) to configure the application according to your organization's needs, and to train your user community how to properly use the tool.

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much Mr. Howard.  Can you enlighten me as to the difference between Project Online and Project for the Web.  I am going through layer after layer of information to figure out which is the best tool for us to use to manage our projects and there is no place to consolidate all the information.  I keep trying out options, Planner, then Trello, then the traditional MS Project, One Note, only to find out that there is no comprehensive system that will allow me to run my projects, collaborate internally and externally, and report to my leadership in one setting. Yesterday I discovered Project for the Web and thought Eureka! Bu then I went to find training on it and I have to go to 3rd parties to get any comprehensive information about its functionality.  It feels like it might work but again I would have to start project setup from scratch.  It's frustrating out here.
