Transferring a Table from one Word Doc to Another without Altering the Layout of Table

Hello,

I have created a table in Microsoft Word from a design template Word provides. I am trying to transfer this table into another Word document, which contains my dissertation. The table is landscape so I have tried in turning the page on the thesis document to landscape before transferring the table.

I have tried copying and pasting and also by going into the "insert file text" tab which have both transferred the table, but have altered the layout of it and also the colour of the table! The design template in Word that I chose is grey and when I moved it it became green!!! Despite transferring it into a landscape page, the table contents go off the page and one cannot view them. Also the footnote references are no longer visible under the table -of which they originally were in the document the table was made in. The transfer has completely altered the layout.

Are there any recommendations on how to remedy this?

Thanks so much!!

Table formatting will be affected by the document theme that is applied to a document. You can reformat the table using the Borders and Shading dialog box.

As far as column widths are concerned, do the following: Click inside the table. On the Table Tools Layout tab, click AutoFit, and then click AutoFit Window. This will adjust the table so that it width fits within the margins of its container.
