Microsoft Forms: Group Form, Summary Link, and Permission

I am trying to create a summary link of a group form (Microsoft Forms) whose permission ("share to collaborate" setting) is "Specific people in my organization..." (and only group members can access) but I am unable to do. ("Create a summary link" in "Responses" tab menu is grayed out)

I have created a form as My forms and then transferred ownership of it to a group I join as an owner, but after that the summary link can't be created.

I noticed that for a group form with different permission ("People in my organization..") the summary link can be created, so, I considered setting permission back to "People in my organization...", however, this seems to be not possible too.

I would like to ask if there is a way to create a summary link of responses in this situation.

Hello sh7421,

Yes, exactly, your understanding is correct. Since you transferred the form ownership to the group, you are no longer the form owner. And only the form owner has the authority to create summary link when collaborating on a form with "specific people in the organization". Co-authors can only copy and share but cannot create a summary link.

Hope this helps!

Should you have further questions, please let me know.

If you think this has helped you, feel free to leave a rating. I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you and Best Regards!

Jen :)

    Thanks Jen__L,

I understand that creating summary link from Microsoft Form is not possible in this situation.

However, I found a way to achieve my purpose! Summary page can be created by accessing the group form via Microsoft Teams.

    Now this issue is resolved.

    Thank you for helping me.

    Hi Jen__L,

    Thank you for the reply.

I already read the provided page explaining sharing form results. As the page suggest (in the notes in "Share results with others"), when the form is shared to collaborate with specific people in the organization, only the form owner can create a summary link. However, as I already transferred form ownership to the group, I am no longer the owner of the form. So, I can't create summary links.

There is no way to create summary links once I fall into such situations.

    Is my understanding correct?
