Reusing Mail Merge Label Template

Hi, I hope someone has the answer to my problem.  Thank you in advance.  Here is my issue:

I create labels for my job.  I use the same labels over and over (but have to recreate them each time).  I have one spreadsheet with several tabs.  They all have the same headers and columns (but the data is different).

Right now, each time I have to create labels, I have to recreate the Label with Fields through the Word MM function.  It is easy to do, but I have to do it almost every day and I think there must be an easier way.

Can I create a Label Template that I can open, pick the same spreadsheet, (but different tab) and merge?  Without having to recreate the label?

I hope that makes sense and I would appreciate any thoughts on this.

Thanks!

It is normal to receive that SQL warning message when opening a Mail Merge Main document that has a data source attached to it.

Your second screen shot indicates that when the mail merge main document was previously used with another data source, that data source had a space after the word Number in that field of the data source, and that if as you claim the headers are the same, that is not quite the case.

If you send me a copy of the mail merge main document and the data source, referencing this thread in the covering email message, I will investigate the issue.

    Hi Ayacht,

Did you save the label document as a template? Or even as a document? If you do, when you reopen it, it use the data you used when you saved it, but you can change the data source

You can either say Yes then go to Select Recipients > Use and existing... then select the workbook, or click No and choose the workbook. Same # of steps either way. I'm not aware of a way to just select a different tab, unless you use a macro

    DOUG-

THANK YOU!  You are correct, it was a column header issue.  I copied and pasted the headers and it works now!  I will put it to the real test this week and let you know if I run into any issues.  Thank you so much!

Diane- thanks so much for replying. Yes, I have tried it as a doc and a dot.  Here is what happens when i change sheets, even if the headers are the same.  It has something to do with the SQL being stuck on sheet 1.  Any other ideas?  Thanks again.
