Embed Email link in Word Document

I need to embed a link to a specific email in a word document. I've tried opening the specific email, copying the address bar, and then pasting it into my document. However, when I test it only opens up to my general email account, and not the specific email.

Can anyone help, please?

Thanks for responding. It's the alternative I'm trying to pursue. Copying and pasting the specific email URL does not solve the problem. I tried doing this but when I tested the link it only brought me to my Gmail account, NOT to the specific email. I don't want other people going through all my emails and they wouldn't know what specific email to open. Surely, there must be a technical solution.

My fall back position is to copy and paste the original email and enclose it as an annexure to my word document. This seems cumbersome and archaic.

If you do not want to copy and paste the specific email into the document, you would paste it into another document and you could create a link to that document.

Alternatively, if you open the email message in a web-based mail application, such as Gmail, you can then obtain a url that you could paste into the document.  However, the user may need to be able to log into the email account.
