- Draw a normal rectangular placeholder.
- Choose Shape Format>Edit Shape>Change Shape and choose Rectangle. This step has no apparent effect, but it prepares the placeholder for the next steps.

5. Right-click on the placeholder border above the lower right corner where you want to start the curve and choose
Add Point. There are 2 cursors that can appear, avoid the one with 4 arrowheads, that's for moving the shape.
6. Click on the point that is the current lower right corner and slide it to the left.
7. Use the curve handles to adjust the shape to a round corner:
