Building blocks in Excel

In MS Word 365 there is an option to save a string to a "building block". The procedure is to select the string and press ALT-F3. You are presented with a "CREATE NEW BUILDING BLOCK" dialog box containing the selected string and an option to "OK". If you choose OK the string is saved. The next time you start to type the same string, Word will autocomplete the string whereupon you can accept it by pressing ENTER or reject it by continuing typing.

Can this be done in Excel?

Hello Deuxdad! I'm Jen, an independent advisor and a fellow Microsoft user like you. I'd be happy to help you out with this issue.

The Excel application and the Word application are different. Currently, there is no such Building Blocks feature in the Excel application like the Word application. What I can suggest to you for now is to raise this concern through Excel Uservoice forum.

    Kind Regards,

    Jen :)
