Hello!

I've been using Lists for the past two weeks, and it has been working wonderful since then.

But las week I created and shared a new list with four members of the organization.

They all were able to read and edit it (since I gave them that level of access).

But three days ago, on monday, the link led us tu a "404 not found" page.

The list is still in "My lists" section, even marked as Favorite:

But whenever I clic, send me to the blak page with the "404 not found" error.

I tried to or duplicate it, but it is not available as one of my lists:

And finally, I tried to Manage acces and trie to revert the permissions i granted.... But when I clic share, it shows me this message (I asked the members if they accidentaly deleted it, but they say no).

Hi Marce,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused. From your description and screenshots, you found that you cannot access your pervious lists in Microsoft Lists with your business account suddenly, which you keep receiving a 404 error.

Generally, 404 error means the item has been removed or not exist when we try to access this item.

Although you have checked with your members that they didn’t delete this list. However, I suggest you can double check your OneDrive location > Recycle bin and see whether the list is listed there. (If you are the owner of the list and the list is saved to “My list”, the list will be stored in your OneDrive. If you created the list in a SharePoint Team site, you could check the Recycle bin in SharePoint site, since the list will be stored in the associated SharePoint site)

If the OneDrive/SharePoint Recycle bin doesn’t have the list, you can also check the second-stage recycle bin and see whether the list file is located there.

At meantime, may I know the following information at your convenience as the problem could also be related to the account/tenant level?

1: Does this problem occur in all the lists your created or the particular lists?

2: If you created a new list, are you able to access it correctly by you and your members?

3: How about the other colleagues in your organization? Do they have the similar issue with their Microsoft Lists?

Best regards,

Dihao

I have the same problem and the lists don´t show in the recycle bin or the second stage. All of the lists created by the specific profile that gave permissions to another users shows 404 error. Nobory can access it.

    Hi Marce,

Thank you for your reply and updates. Glad to hear that you found these lists from your OneDrive recycle bin.

When I did some tests from my side I also noticed some inconsistencies behaviors and limitation as you mentioned above such as the list in “My lists”, limited level of access in Microsoft lists, etc. I understand that It would be very convenient and important to users with those features. As you may know Microsoft Lists is a quite new app in Microsoft 365 service currently, some features may stills need further development.

In this scenario, I suggest you can raise your feedback in Microsoft 365 UserVoice platform, which it is a channel to let the related product team be aware of the limitation and improvement and improve it in the future. Thank you for your understanding.

At meantime, if your organization tenant has enabled Audit Log search feature in Microsoft 365 admin center > Security > Audit log Search. The admin can always track the history activities in the organization tenant, include who are the users deleted/restored the list, and also viewed/updated the list. Like the screenshots below in my test tenant.

    For your information:

Turn audit log search on or off

Search the audit log in the compliance center

    Best regards,

    Dihao

    One more thing.

While I was searching in the recycle bin, I saw another List that I deleted on purpose a few days ago.  And that List had the Lists ICON.

But the list that recently recovered (thanks to you), the one that was missing, it just had a generic document icon, not the LISTS icon.

    And another funny fact.

The list that I deleted, disappeared from "My lists".

While the one that I just recovered, was still in My Lists, I just could not access to it.

Hope it works for any update.

    PROBLEM SOLVED.

    Thank you, very much.

I'm kind of ashamed the aswer was so obvios. It was on the Recycle bin. :(

Now I would like to know how to check if there is a history available to know who deleted it.

I just wish there will be a "in between" level of acces where other memebers of the organization can add items, but once they are in the list only the owner or owners can edit.

Also, I was planning to use Lists as a Ticket / Orders System, to receive tasks from all the organization, but not having all the items in the list available for everyone to read them.

Answering your questions (although maybe is not necesary):

1: Does this problem occur in all the lists your created or the particular lists?

It only happened in that particular list that I created and shared. The rest of my lists remained available, but none of those were shared.

2: If you created a new list, are you able to access it correctly by you and your members?

    Yes.

3: How about the other colleagues in your organization? Do they have the similar issue with their Microsoft Lists?

So far, I'm the first one in my organization using and trying Lists. So, as far as I know, none else have experienced this.

    Once again thank you.
