PLEASE HELP!!! EXCEL Formulas Not Working On Android?

I've been working on an EXCEL Workbook for a while and I even hired an expert to create some complex VBA Coding and Formulas for me. It works perfectly fine on my computer but I was extremely disappointed to find out that NONE of the VBA Codes or Formulas work when I open it on my Smartphone. It renders it useless since I need to use it on phones a lot.

The version of EXCEL on my computer is Version 16.41 (20091302).

The version of EXCEL on my Smartphone is Version 1.0.1 (16.0.13127.20162).

I assume both of those are the latest versions since they are the very first versions that appear when I bring up EXCEL in the Google Play Store and Microsoft Website respectively.

Could the problem be because my phone is an ANDROID SAMSUNG S20 and my computer is a MAC. Could that be the issue? If so, what is the way around this issue? Do I need to create one version of the Workbook on MAC for iPhones and another separate version on PC for Androids?

Hi AlexanderBouraad,

Thank you for querying in this forum.

According to your description, it seems that you have created a workbook with VBA code and formulas in Excel for Mac, then you found they don’t work in Excel for Android.

May I know if my understanding is right? If so, generally, as HansV mentioned, VBA code may not be supported in Excel in Android. We’re sorry that it doesn’t meet your requirement. I do understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.

To address your concern, we’d suggest you vote this UserVoice: Excel with macro (and VBA) on Tablet and Mobile. This is the best platform to let us hear from you and make our products and services better for you and others. Microsoft will keep monitoring customers feedback there, some features would be added to the products and services based on customers feedback in the future, and your good ideas will be very helpful for the dedicated engineers in Microsoft to improve the services.

At the same time, we also noticed that you mentioned formulas also don’t work, may I know if those formulas are related to VBA code or just simple formula? I those formula is related to VBA, we’re afraid that they may not work in Excel for Android. If they are just simple formulas, could you also share the formula you are using and we can test it on our side?

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated.

Best Regards,

Sukie

VBA only works on Excel for Windows and Excel for OS X (Mac). It does not work in Excel for iOS, Excel for Android and in the online (browser) version of Excel.
