Font Style Won't Change

I have the font Acherus Grotesque and the font styles installed (and installed for all users), but I only can use one font style in Word. All the others default to Times New Roman.  All of the font styles work in other programs, like Photoshop, but for some reason Word won't let me use any other style other than "Black" which is the boldest.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the entire font family, I've rebooted my computer, and other random solutions and nothing's worked so far. I would appreciate any help!

    Hi,

Thank you for sharing the font family files in PM.

I did a test from my side with the same Microsoft 365 apps version: Version 2011 (Build 13426.20332) Current Channel.

    Windows 10 Enterprise Version 1809.

It seems that there is no issue in Word app, which all the font styles can be displayed and applied in Word app, as well as the other Office apps.

Probably,Probably the problem could be caused by the Word app itself, I suggest you can try out the following methods and see the result.

1: Try to replace your previous installed font family and ensure you Install for all users.

2: Try Office online repair to repair Office apps.

    For your information:

    Repair an Office application

3: Enter Word app in Office Safe Mode by running command in Run box to ensure the problem is not caused by any Word add-ins or extension.

    For your information:

Open Office apps in safe mode on a Windows PC – See Use the /safe option to open an Office application

4: Try to enter Windows with clean boot to isolate the problem is related to the other programs or services in OS.

    Merry Christmas!

    Best regards,

    Dihao

Thank you! I use this font frequently in Word so it's the only font I've noticed that has this problem. Ctrl+I will italicize, but Ctrl+B has no effect.

In regards to other Office apps, it's only in Word. The font and font options work fine in PowerPoint and Excel.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your question in this community. Based on your above description, you found that a third-party font you installed Acherus Grotesque couldn’t use other front style in Word app, such as regular, Italic.

First of all, may I confirm the following information at your convenience?

1: What is your Office app’s product information you are using? Include, Product Information, version, build number, update channel. You can go to File > Account > Product Information to find details and share a screenshot of “Product Information” with us.

2: Does this scenario occur with this font only or all the other fonts in Word app?

3: How about the other Office app, such as Excel, PowerPoint? Does the same scenario occur?

At meantime, did you try to select the text and use shortcut Ctrl +I and Ctrl + B to Italicize and bold the text in Acherus Grotesque?

    Best regards,

    Dihao
