Space below glyphs

When I use glyphs on the left of a "j", "y" or "z" (characters that have a descender that goes to the left, under the glyph next to it) it looks fine on the screen but does not print correctly. The space below the glyph (which I can see when I highlight it, as shown below) obscures part of the descender when it prints.  I am using Publisher.  Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what I can do about this please?

Thanks for your reply David, I did have to resort to that!  I just wondered if there was anything in the printer or font settings that would resolve the issue?

Sorry but I have only guesses. I have never seen or read of this issue before.

Select the text > right click > change text > font > try superscript.

Select the text > right click > change text > character spacing.

Print to PDF if you have a PDF printer driver, or export as a PDF, or Save As a PDF and then print the PDF if indeed the "descender" is "fixed".

I am not sure how you formed the glyph but can you extend the distance...the line, to the J?

Again, sorry...let us know if you figure it out.

One workaround: Select and Save As a picture (I prefer PNG) > insert picture instead of text.

You might try creating the same in Word and see if that prints correctly. If so then try importing into Publisher and see if it holds the formatting.
