Hi All

I am looking to see if anyone has the link to the documentation on the command line switches for **OfficeC2RClient.exe.**I have checked online and can't find any document other than an old link below.

https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/odsupport/2014/03/03/the-new-update-now-feature-for-office-2013-click-to-run-for-office365-and-its-associated-command-line-and-switches/

but this gets a 404 error the content must have been moved.

    Hi geoff,

    Thank you for the reply.

First, please accept my apology for not being able to find any official documentation or third-party article about command line switches for you.

And I agree with you that "It looks like the switches are similar to what is in the xml configuration file", and there are different methods to change the specifications or deploying methods, but the result is same by going through any process.

Since, you want to switch the Office apps from 32 Bit to 64 Bit, I recommend you go with Office Deployment Tool. In addition, you can also give the feedback to related developing team about the article on command switches in Office 365UserVoice.

    Best regards,

    Jazlyn

    Hi Jazlyn

Thanks for the reply. The standard install switches don't work for the click to run client.

It looks like the switches are similar to what is in the xml configuration file that can be used to deploy Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise the below works to update to the specific version.

    OfficeC2RClient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.13127.21064 forceappshutdown=True displaylevel=False

I was trying to see if there was any other parameters to do verbose logging and possible do a x86 to x64 upgrade but I might just use the setup.exe with the configuration file and see how that goes.

    Thanks

    geoff

Thanks for the help Jazlyn, I have the update package working through configmgr so will just stick with that.

    Hi geoff,

Thank you for posting your query in our community.

About the OfficeC2RClient.exe (and other helper exes like IntegratedOffice.exe, OfficeClickToRun.exe), it is an executable internal to the Click-To-Run deployment process. Many of its command line options are often updated without prior notification to the overall design of Office installation/deployment. Any direct usage of these command line executables in automated scripts, tools or solutions is not guaranteed to work and thus not supported by Microsoft.

And I research a lot, however, I couldn't find any official article about it. I could only find this article about Command-line switches for Microsoft software update packages which is not about Microsoft 365 Office apps.

    Best regards,

    Jazlyn
