I want to record a PowerPoint slideshow with video, but I want to use a virtual background in the embedded video. Is that possible?

I'm using Microsoft 365 on Windows 10.

PowerPoint used to support transparency in QuickTime video, but no longer does. You'll have to change the background in a video editor, then import that to PowerPoint.

Here is a PowerPoint User Voice suggestion that this feature be added to future versions. Please add your vote: 32bit video (with alpha channel)

    Thanks, John.

What I really need is the ability to use a virtual background on video created by PowerPoint using the "Record Slide Show" option.

It doesn't look like that's possible yet, though.

Using only PowerPoint, you could place your virtual background as the slide background before recording the show.

If your slides have a constant color as the background, you could record the slide show, bring the video into a video editor and use the editor's chromakey function to drop in a new background.
