Change Multiple Font Sizes

Hi,

I would like to know if there is any way for me to change multiple font sizes at once ex. I have a document that has font size 16 and 18 I want to automatically change that they should both go up with 2 sizes 16 should be 18 and 18 should be 20 without me manually changing each font to the appropriate size. If I select the entire document and go to font size everything will be changed to one size.

I would appreciate an answer from you as soon as possible.

Thank you.

    Hi ZGELB

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this . . .

Select all text in your document, then click the Grow Font button once, that should add 2pt to each of the font sizes in your document, each time you click that button, it will increment all font sizes by 2pt, so 16 becomes 18 and 18 becomes 20

    .

And by selecting the whole document you affect ALL font sizes.  So if you have any sizes other than the 2 you specifically wish to change, ie if there is any "body text", that will also be increased

    .

Ultimately, the suggestion to use styles is best. It gives you the most control

    .

Also as suggested earlier, using find and replace would work in 2 incremements.

    • select all
    • find 18pt replace with 20pt: replace all
    • Find 16pt replace with 18pt: replace all.

What GrowFont actually does is increase the font size to the next size listed in the Font dropdown. The increment is not always 2 points. For example, it will go from 10 to 11 to 12, then 14, then by 2 points to 28, after which the jump is to 36 and so on.

To add to what Dave has said, in more complex cases, you can use Find & Replace (Ctrl+H).

Long-term, setting up styles for controlling formatting will be more convenient, though. See https://shaunakelly.com/topic/word/styles.html.
