Wrong week numbering for 2021

I am using MS Project Professional 2016

I have a problem with the weeks. For this new year 2021, the system is considering the Week 1, to start on Friday 1st of Januray. and consequently Week 2 starts on Monday 4th, which is incorrect.

4.1.2021 -> CW 2 (Wrong! Should be 1).

Please your support on this matter.

    I don't use Project, but take a look to see if Project has the equivalent of the Excel ISOWeekNum() function:

    ISOWEEKNUM Function
    https://exceljet.net/excel-functions/excel-isoweeknum-function

    The Excel ISOWEEKNUM function takes a date and returns a week number (1-54) that follows ISO standards, where weeks begin on Monday and week number 1 isassigned to the first week in a year that contains a Thursday.

    Unlike Excel or Outlook, Project does not always define week numbers according to established standards.  This has been discussed often:

    DanielSanchez2021,

    Despite what Arissa O says, this IS the correct forum for your question.

    To answer your question, it depends on how you chose to display the timescale. In this simple example, the middle tier is set to display weeks as 1,2,...52 and the bottom tier is set to display weeks from the start. Pick the one that meets your needs

    Hope this helps.

    John
