A Microsoft file hosting and synchronization service.
Hi,
I have done it both ways previously and got corrupted zips or missing files. I tried it again as suggested and the zip is corrupted.
Best wishes,
Matt

Hi,
I've got a large number of files (thousands, >6GB) which I wish to download from my Onedrive for Business onto my MacOSX. I do not wish to use the sync client because it previously has caused enormous permissions issues. If I go to the Onedrive and download the files, they are either corrupt as Zips or have a large number of missing files. I can't download file by file because there are too many files.
Is there any fix to this issue?
Best wishes,
Matthew

Hi,
I haven't tried to download thousands of individual files, for obvious reasons. My network is stable and I have tried this multiple times on different networks.
I try to download multiple files at once, which Onedrive sensibly sends as a single zip. These zips are either corrupted themselves or if not corrupted, have files missing. The files within the zip, if present, are fine.
Can you please share multiple possible solutions at once. The previous time using this it took over a week back and forth before someone sent me a solution.
Best wishes,
Matthew
Hi Jazlyn,
As explained, Onedrive for Mac causes severe permissions problems every time I use it. I do not want to install it again, because it took me an afternoon to fix last time.
Could we at least try to fix the broken downloads from Onedrive?
Best wishes,
Matt
Hi Matthew,
Sorry for all the inconvenience caused by this issue.
Based on your description, when you try to download files from OneDrive Online, the Zips will be corrupted and files will be lost.
You mentioned that you downloaded thousands of files, generally, we do not recommend users to download such a large number of files at once. Because some factors can easily cause problems during the download process, such as network instability.
Given this situation, we suggest you try to switch to another browser in a stable network environment to see the result.
And may I confirm whether all the files in the ZIPs are corrupted? If not, you can download the files in question separately to see if there is any problem.
Best regards,
Jazlyn
Hi Matthew,
Thank you for your reply.
Generally, there are two methods to download OneDrive files: from Online and from desktop. Since you mentioned that when you download files from Online, the zips are either corrupted themselves or if not corrupted, have files missing. And it is difficult for us to find the root cause.
So we suggest you to setup the OneDrive on your Mac. After syncing successfully, then you could directly copy-paste these files from OneDrive folder to your local drive. Then if you don't want to use OneDrive client any more, you can choose to unlink/uninstall OneDrive from your Mac.
Best regards,
Jazlyn
