I have Microsoft Office Professional 2010 and after the last Windows update I am getting constantly a notification about error code 30016-26. I don't intend to use Office on web and at this time I don't intend to install Office 365.  I repaired Office through Control Panel and I am still getting error notification which is very annoying. I never installed it and I was never asked if I want to install it.  How can I get rid of it?

Thank you for your help

    Hi ElenaME,

So sorry for this inconvenience caused to you.

According to my research, the “30016-26” error code may cause by Firewall block Office installation. So, please try the following steps:

    1. Open Control Panel.
    2. Select System and Security.
    3. Click Allow an app through Windows Firewall.
    4. Click Change settings>select allow another app…

    Hi ElenaME,

    Thank you for the reply.

As you mentioned the issue happened since the latest windows update. And we noticed that Windows 10 had released the following update on April 13, 2021.

    April 13, 2021—KB5001330 (OS Builds 19041.928 and 19042.928) (microsoft.com)

So, to narrow down this issue, you may try to uninstall the KB5001300 to see the result. And for detailed steps, please refer to this article: How to uninstall a Windows 10 update | TechRadar

Thank you for you help even though it is not what I am looking for. I have Office 2010 which I am used to and I don't intend to use Office 365. The error window is showing even after uninstalling the Office that, by the way, was never even initiated. This is happening since the latest windows update (last week). I want the window stop showing up every time I sign in my PC.

    Thank you.

Thank you for your response. I uninstalled Office 365 trial which I never downloaded and never initiated. It is not in my apps anymore as I uninstalled it but still showing on task bar as error 30016-26. After closing the window it will show again. This is happening after the most recent update this week.

    Thank you.

    Get rid of what?

If you mean an Office 365 trial you uninstall that via add/remove dialogue.

The only repair you can do with 2010 is a reinstall /repair, as 2010 went out of support Oct 2020 and as of that date no updates of  any type
