Unable to Add/Remove students from my Class Notebook - OneNote

When I try to remove a student from my Class Notebook I get an error message saying "No Class Notebooks have been created yet"

I have multiple Class Notebooks created through OneNote and have performed the Add/Remove students function in the past with no problems.

    Hi George,

    Thanks for your response, it is not just one Classroom notebook it is 5-6 notebooks that do not appear when trying to add or remove students.

    Hi Curtis,

    Thanks for posting back.

    According to your description, the problematic notebook is a normal class notebook, not a Teams notebook. If so, it seems the issue exists in a specific notebook. Please create a new notebook in the OneDrive, then checking whether the new notebook exists in the Add/Remove student list. If so, please use the Copy/Move feature to Copy the problematic notebook pages/sections to the new notebook. Sorry for the inconvenience that happens to you.

    Hi,

    They have tried using an incognito tab in Chrome with no change. They also tried with Edge as well as Internet Explorer and still get the same error when trying to access their Classroom Notebooks.

    As mentioned we haven't had other reports of this issue in our system.

    Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi George,

    The person I'm assisting does see the notebooks in Manage notebooks, I've confirmed this via remote connection. These notebooks were created in OneNote, we checked Teams just in case to see if they were there but they were not.

    They have confirmed that have added and removed students from a Class Notebook through OneNote several times in the past but it has just recently become an issue.

    We have tried using Edge and Chrome and had the same issue. I've cleared the cache as well in the browsers without any luck.

    I will ask them to try the private window and that link to see if that helps. Our IT team hasn't found other users with this same issue so far.

    Hi CHynes_RCSD,

    Thanks for posting in the community.

    According to your description, I assume you toke the screenshot from https://www.onenote.com/edu/classnotebook. Please click Manage notebooks, are you able to see the missing notebooks? If so, it means these notebooks are created in Teams. If you want to add/remove students from the Teams class notebook, you can just add/remove students from that team.

    If these problematic notebooks are not Teams class notebooks, please change another browser or open the private window of the browser, then accessing https://www.onenote.com/edu/classnotebook. If the issue still exists, I would like to know whether your colleagues have the same issue.
