Customize Default Fonts for Templates in Powerpoint for Mac (365)

I've reached out to support on this issue and it appears Mac users are not able to create default fonts for templates in Powerpoint. Hoping this issue is fixed.

    I believe you're referring to the ability to create a font theme. This is the clearest evidence that Microsoft purposely hobbles the Mac version of PowerPoint, since a font theme is a simple text file. There's no technical reason why they can program it in, they just won't.

    Fortunately, you can create one yourself. If you're careful, you can use TextEdit, but the free version of BBEdit makes it easier to get right.Here's my how-to article: OOXML Hacking: Font Themes

    Hi,

    Thanks for your time to share your experience in our community.

    Given your concern that the customized default fonts for templates in PowerPoint for Mac, so we did the test in PowerPoint 16.47 for Mac, to identify whether there has any misunderstanding, please check my steps as below:

    Create a new presentation> go to View tab> Click Slide Master> change the default font as customized> save the ppt as a template one> then share it to another account> but the customized font won’t change in Mac and Windows.

    To narrow down it, may I know my steps are same as yours? If not, please point out and we will further test it.

    Moreover, please make sure you are using the latest version of PowerPoint to see the result again.

    Also, could you please provide some information as below?

    1. What’s your current version of PowerPoint? Go to PowerPoint> click “About Microsoft PowerPoint“ and capture the screenshot of it.
    2. Do all presentations or just this specific one has such issue? Including a new one?
    3. Could you please capture some compared screenshots about the customized default fonts won’t support to help us better understand?
