Adding a Placeholder in Word (not random Text!), that contains date entry examples and deletes itself by clicking

Hello to the community,

I would be glad if you could help me with the following question:

I want to create a template that contains (besides normal text) circa 100 placeholders with certain words or statements (as examples), that are similar, but not exactly the same every time the template has to be filled out.

So e.g.

"Hello [Mrs./Mr.],

my name is [Editors name]. As you might remind we got to know each other at [meeting place]. I would be really happy if we could meet again in [1 hour, 6 hours, 3 days, 10 days, one month].

..." and so on.

The placeholders shall not be filled out automatically but by the editor itself everytime. I could design the placeholders with normal text and highlight it, so that the editors knows, what to change. But he/she had then to click at the placeholder and delete the placeholder text every time, which is tedious for 100+ placeholders.

Is there a way, that reduces clicking and deleting by deleting the placeholder automatically after clicking. Or do you know any other option to simplify the adaption process? These templates have to be filled out several times a week and it would be nice to reduce repetitive work.

Kind regards.

    Hello,

You can use ***Content Controls***. Here is a page describing how this is done.
    http://gregmaxey.com/word_tip_pages/content_control_fillin_form.html

Use the Group Content Control for the entire document. Then the tab key will move people from one date selection point to another. You can use either a Date Picker Content Control or a Combo Box. These can be set for any date format you want.

You can have some of these mapped so that they will repeat the information filled in in other areas.

If the document may be in versions of Word before Word 2007, you can use ***MacroButton Field*** **** ***Prompts***.

Here is my free Add-In for inserting MacroButton Field Prompts.
