When I go to a website and it has images I wish to copy including the logo at the website, in the past, I have always gone to search in Word and typed in "Paste Special" the options appear that allow one to do as I want to do including one which is paste bitmap.  Today, I began to copy info from a website and have not been able to find "Paste Special" except for possibly 2 out of 10 times and further, there is no way to paste a bitmap image.  I did an update earlier this week (week of 2/22/2021) so do not know if that changed something or what is going on.  I even tried F1 Help and while there is info offered, none of it is for my version of Word.

I do not know what is go ing on but I though before I send this, I should provide the version number as that might help if there are issues.  So I went to a Word document, a new blank one, and clicked on FILE, then ACCOUNT, and the page comes up that shows what the software is and etc.  However for some reason today, it does not show the version number, only the product name.

Call this the case of disappearing commands and info.

HELP!

In the full, locally installed version of Word, Paste Special can be accessed via the Home tab. See screen shot below.

    Image

What specific options are offered in the Paste Special dialog box will depend on the source from which you copied and it will also depend on the target into which you are trying to paste.

You can always take a screen shot of the web page, save it as an image file and insert the image into Word.

On the Home tab, in the Clipboard group, click the arrow below Paste and choose Paste Special...

I tried what you suggested, but there was no "Paste Special"

As I said, it used to be if you went to the search function which I use a lot, and typed in PASTE then it would come back with the allowed options which sometimes, not always, would include the option for Bitmap. In this case trying what you said, I clicked the down arrow and received PASTE SPECIAL and SET DEFAULT PASTE. Clicking on PASTE SPECIAL, the only thing that came back was HTML Format and still nothing for BITMAP. There are a lot of things on the net that you cannot paste unless you use PASTE SPECIAL and it comes back with one of the options being BITMAP.

    Still highly frustrated!!!

    But, thanks for trying!
