Formatting Avery File Folder Labels

I have a sheet of 30 labels in two columns identified as 8366. It says to use Template 5366, which I am doing. I'd like the labels to be in Arial 14 font, bold and centered. I'd like to type my label, then hit Enter and go to the next label. But how to set the paragraph spacing, before and after each entry?

I got a template downloaded from Avery, but can't figure out how it is formatted.

Yes, if you have white space hidden and the table is at the top of the page, you won't see the handle. After you display white space, you should see it.

You can select the entire table and change the font. You can change the vertical and horizontal alignment using Align Center button on the Table Tools | Design tab:

When you have modified the font and alignment, save the document as a template as Graham suggests.

Because this is a table, you can't use Enter to go to the next label, but you can use Tab to move from one table cell to the next.

Create a New document as described by Suzanne

Select the table. Set the vertical alignment of the table to centred:

Modify the Normal paragraph style for that document to feature 14 point Arial centred.

Save the document as a template.

Use that template for your filing labels.

Instead of using the Avery template, choose the appropriate template from Mailings | Create | Labels. In the Labels dialog, click Options... and, in the Label Options dialog, choose "Avery US Letter" as the vendor. Scroll down to 8366 and select it. Note that the labels are listed alphabetically rather than numerically, so you'll have to scroll down below all the labels that begin with 1, 2, 3, etc. (even those with five digits) to get to 8366.

Click OK to return to the Labels dialog and click New Document. This will give you a sheet of labels. They're set up as a table, so make sure you have table gridlines displayed so you can see the label boundaries. You then type each label in the corresponding cell of the table. Note that there is an empty column in the center of the table that makes space between the labels.

Thanks for the detailed response. I got a document with two columns of 15 "labels." But here I'm stuck. I made the font Ariel 14 bold in one "cell," but apparently cannot make it apply to all 30. I'd also like the labels centered left to right and top to bottom. And for the ENTER key to move the cursor to the following label. What did I miss?
