Can't purchase subscription - address errors

Trying to purchase a MS 365 Business Standard subscription now that trial period has expired. MS has already told me that I have to use the company credit card rather than bundle with our other MS subscriptions that are invoiced monthly since I am just getting one license. Company is in Europe.

Keep getting stuck in checkout. My company address is already filled in, with the city name under City and also under State. When I click Save it says "incorrectly formatted state". I delete the state (since it's really not a state anyway) and it says Check your address. There appears to be an error in it.

I put the state back. Incorrectly formatted state. I put it back but without accents. Incorrectly formatted state. I've tried spelling in English and French, with and without accents, and keep getting this error. I contacted MS support and was on the line for an hour with someone who tried all that all over again with no success.

I suspect it actually is not related to the accents or state, or even the address, but is just some other bug with an unhelpful error message, in fact I remember having this problem once years ago but I can't recall if it was ever resolved. Meanwhile I need to use Excel urgently so I hope someone can help!

thanks

    Hello,

Same problem over here. We have to renew our test Microsoft 365 Business Basic (Month to Month) as the credit card has expired.

Entering the new credit card with tied Switzerland address is not accepted. We tried to add another company credit card tied to same address and every time it's rejected. Under Town/City it says "Check your address. There seems to be an error."

The same card however has been successfully accepted during troubleshooting and registered in tenant where we run our production :

    Office 365 E3

It has the exact same address as on the trouble tenant and it was smoothly accepted...

Only difference I noticed is that in "M365 Business Basic" Admin Center (new experience) it asks for First Name, Surname and Name on Card when adding a new payment method for CC. In the production tenant where we run "O365 E3", the add payment method for CC only asks about the Name on Card.

The solution that came up with support agent is to create a complete new Global Admin without license attached and have this new admin user add the credit card. Then the Microsoft agent can run a script to let the payment method show up back on the main admin within 24 hours....

This all took us 90 minutes to resolve... Hope this helps someone out there.

    Best,

    Belinda

Same problem here. Can't create a billing profile at the moment. Although the address is correct it shows an error message on the City field.

Same issue here ... I've been unable to add a Payment Method since Monday (it is now Wednesday evening) and I've spent about 3hrs on the phone (so far) with Microsoft Support, including using their SaRA tool, and their Fiddler tool, and even uploading the "source code" of the Admin Centre page that had the error.

We're a US-based company, attempting to use the SAME US-based address that our organization is registered with Microsoft 365 under, for a new payment card (the old credit card expired naturally).

I've tried EVERY combination of street address, city name, and (US) ZIP code ... and then went on to try ANY real US-based address. No luck ... the same error message no matter what US address I use.

All they can do is say that they're going to need to analyze the issue.

There seems to be (or at least what they claim) no manual way for a customer support or billing agent to manually override or add payment details by phone or in any other way.

I have users that don't have email now, I have active Power BI subscriptions that are expire, and I have Teams phone numbers that don't work now for over 48hrs.
