How do I center all occurrences of a word in Microsoft Word

I have a very long document.

Some sections are divided by three asterisks.

During formatting changes, the three asterisks got left justified.

I want to do a mass replace to center the three asterisks throughout the document.

How is that done?

Thanks in advance.

I apologize, I did not get your question in the first place, however, I am clear now.

To center align those three asterisks, please follow these steps:

    1. Use Find and Replace window
    2. Add three asterisks in Find What textbox
    3. Add three asterisks in Replace with textbox
    4. Click on "More>>" button
    5. Click on the Format button under Replace label
    6. Then Paragraph
    7. In the Alignment Dropdown, select Centered
    8. Press Ok
    9. Press Replace All

    That's it.

I hope it helps, let me know in case of any further assistance required.

    Hi Cliff

Click at the Start of your Document

On the Home Tab, select Find and Replace

In the 'Find What' box type 3 asterisks

Important - Click into the 'Replace With' box

At the bottom, click More - Format - Paragraph

    Set Alignment to Centered

    Click 'Replace All'

While Dave's reply provides the immediate solution, I would suggest defining a paragraph style for the dividers. I usually create a Divider style that is centered and has some Spacing Before/After. Once you've done that, you can use Replace to apply the Divider style instead of just centering the paragraph (that is, use Format | Style | Divider instead of Format | Paragraph: Centered).

Also, I would suggest that your "Find what" text be ***^p (to include the paragraph mark so that the entire paragraph is selected).
