Hi there

I have been told I can edit a document in Word in 365 by handwriting using the S pen. I can find details to do this in OneNote for the Galaxy Note but not s6 lite and not 365.

Any help appreciated

    Hi Ivy

I have a Galaxy s6 lite with appropriate s pen.

I need to edit documents using the S pen for handwriting. This is working fine on 365 documents. But I can't see where to tell the tablet to convert my handwritten changes on the document to text in Word

    I have a subscription for 365 Personal

    Thanks

    Jan

    Hi Jan,

Sorry for the late response as I was out of office.

We are sorry that we can’t find any information about whether this feature is available on S7 Tab with the S pen. I assume the answer is negative based on the article.

If you don’t mind, I can move this thread to the correct category so that other forum members can share valuable suggestion about this case.

    Appreciate your understanding.

    Best Regards,

    Ivy

    Hi Ivy

Thanks for this info. I will write to the team

Could you tell me whether the same applies to the s7 with the S pen? ie  whether editing with handwriting in a word document is available.

    Thanks Jan

    Hi Jan,

In this article, it says we can use ink tool to draw or write in Word, Excel and PowerPoint for Android. But the Ink to Shapes feature is only available in PowerPoint for Android.

We did a lot of research, but it seems like we can’t convert handwriting to text in Word for Android. We sincerely suggest you provide feedback from Word app for Android to send your suggestion to product team directly. Your suggestion will help us improve our Products and give users a better experience.

As a workaround, you can use Word for Windows or Word for Mac to convert handwriting to text to continue work. Your understanding is highly appreciated.

    Best Regards,

    Ivy

    Hi Jan5516,

First of all, we would like to convey that we are unable to test as we don’t have the same device at our end. Please don’t mind it.

May I know you can’t edit either OneNote or Office 365 applications on S6 Lite? Based on this article, some qualifying plans and all non-qualifying plans have a screen size limit of 10.1 inches for editing in the Office mobile apps. For example, if you're using an iPad Pro with a 12.9 inch screen, you must have a qualifying Microsoft 365 plan with access to the desktop apps to edit files.

Could you please confirm whether you are having the same scenario? What is the size of your device and do you have any Office product license??  Moreover, you mentioned that you can’t edit the documents, can you provide the screenshot of the error or the user interface of Office? It will help us understand it better.

    Appreciate your cooperation.

    Best Regards,

    Ivy
