OneDrive Save button and Folders grayed out on iPhone but other clouds are not

Onedrive folders and Save button are grayed out on my iphone when I have tried to "Save to Files" through the Files App. The folders for some reason are showing as read only in the App as well which is quite weird.

However other cloud services such as google drive, dropbox save to iphone and the Save button are not grayed out and completely available to save too.

This was working previously but all of a sudden has stopped for no reason. I am site administrator on this account having full permissions from a microsoft end and have checked the settings in the iphone to allow access to all photos. I have not changed any settings either or read only.

    Hi

I'm not a techie but think I can help. This started happening to me a few weeks ago, and it was a hassle because I like to keep everything organised in onedrive, but had to start saving files on my device because onedrive locations were grayed out.

But here's what I have figured out. I use iPad pro by the way but it's the same thing...

There are two different ways to save to one drive from your iPad or iPhone.  The one that's stopped working says “save to files’ and is beneath various app icons like outlook, messages, and......onedrive! If you click the one drive icon you can save to the specific filemlocation you want.  It works that way.  Hope that helps

    Hi all,

Really thanks for all your effort to share this experience with us, in terms of your OneDrive Save button and Folders grayed out in iPhone and iPad issue, we’ve further investigate and we would like to add a summary of this to help other users get more information on such same situation.

    Problem description:

OneDrive Save button and Folders grayed out when using Files app on iPhone/iPad.

    Problem environment:

Microsoft 365 Apps or Office 365 Business

    Suggestions:

Based on our internal resources, this is a temporary adjustment in IOS OneDrive and Files App entering read only mode which helps prevent future changes from being lost without proper save. This situation happens with OneDrive iOS version 12.18+ on iOS and iPadOS devices, the Files app experience will reflect that writes cannot be made at this time and will prevent end-users from editing files or folders from the Files app. End users will also temporarily be unable to save items to OneDrive using the "Save to Files" command in the iOS Share sheet.

Besides, you can also see the notice in OneDrive from Apple Store, like below screenshot:

Please notice the change is temporary, but we don't have an ETA when it will be reverted. There are discussions between Apple and Microsoft to determine how to fix. Given this case, we kindly suggest you be patient and wait for the newest updates.

Thanks all for your cooperation and understanding!

    Have a nice day!

    Regards,

    Gloria

Spoke to Microsoft again today about the issue and they have not stated when a fix is available. Still with the developers apparently while our operations are at a stand still. Not good enough for a issue of this significance to be nearly a month with no ETA of a fix.

Same issue here. I used this all the time and suddenly March 1 I can’t save to OneDrive through the iOS Files app. Just noticed this info. It’s been set to read only.
