"Outside" means on the right of a right-hand (odd-numbered) page and on the left of a left-hand (even-numbered) page. You may want to use this if you have a mirror margin setup.

In other words, if editing moves the table to a new page, "Outside" (or "Inside") will move the table to the opposite page edge or margin etc.

One typo in Stefan's response. When you set it relative to the Page, it will be relative to the edge of the page. If you set it relative to the margin, it will set relative to that.

The easiest way is to learn about this is to do some testing. For example, if you specify the Horizontal Position to "Left" Relative to "Page," the table will start at the left edge of the page (EDIT). See screen shot below.

The "Inside" and "Outside" options refer to a mirror margin layout.

If I set "Relative to Margin" and change the 'Position' in to "Left or Inside, Right or Outside" how will it effect on my documents?
