VBA Editor & Macros Greyed out

I've used VBA & macros for years on my laptop. Today I go to the Developers tab and find the VBA editor & macros options are greyed out. I can't open VBA. Not sure if this is an update bug as I've tried everything I know to resolve.

Trust center is enabled for all macros. Even in a new workbook VBA & macros is greyed out, which it shouldn't be. If I try to open macro enabled files, it tells me there's a problem with the file and it can try to recover/repair the file, I say yes and it tells me it's opening after removing the VBA part. Yet the same file works fine on my 2nd computer. Something has changed on my laptop.

I've tried reinstalling office365 (onto Win10 laptop) but problem still exists, VBA & macros greyed out. This problem is on my laptop running version 2104 of excel, my 2nd computer is running version 2103 (on win 8.1). Has anyone else had this problem?? Any suggestions??

The WORD developer tab has all options good (the VBA & macros options are not greyed out). It's just Excel I have a problem with.

It's like I've lost VBA for excel.

Any help appreciated.

    Hi Gustavo,

    Thanks for your reply.

Having already re-installed office365 earlier today, I wasn't sure if your suggestion would work, but I'll try anything ATM. I'd already tried the quick repair, but hadn't done the full online repair you suggest, so let's give it a go.

I started the full online repair an hour ago. Computer appeared to have completed, but no dialogue box to confirm(????). I waited, but nothing more seemed to be happening. I checked the start menu and all office365 apps had been deleted (by the repair program), but that was it. No new install and no word, excel etc. Very strange. Even though I'm ultra cautious about viruses, started thinking maybe I have a virus problem.

So with no office365 apps, I decided to go back to the office365 webssite and download the full package yet again (2nd time today).

At the moment, this "appears" to have resolved my issue. The VBA editor & macros are no longer greyed out. I"think" the problem is resolved, but will be watching it very closely over the coming days.

Thanks for your assistance anyway. Appreciate it.

    David
