How to install macros

When I open Microsoft Word home and student 2019 version in windows 10, an error message which says "The function you are attempting to run contains macros or content that requires macro language support. When this software was installed, you (or your administrator) chose not to install support for macros or controls" is popping up, and I am not able to use add ons like Zotero because of the above issue. Please help me to resolve this.

Thank you

Take a look at this tip:

    https://tipsmake.com/how-to-fix-office-error-the-function-you-are-attempting-to-run-contains-macros

Note: the instructions are for Office 2007. In 2019/365 the start of the path is File menu > Options command. After that the old instructions still apply.

I had this problem - plagued me trying to open students work to assess submitted through Teams (requiring the full features of Word).

All the option of running change apps etc via settings only applies to Office 2007 and earlier.

I changed word to run as admin - this worked from the start menu, but also had to change the properties of Winword.exe to run as admin. So far this seems to work.
