MS Teams asks me to scan a QR code with the MS authenticator app on my mobile device. The app is implemented the account is activated, but there is no functionality to scan a QR code shown. Please help.

Thanks

Alex

I have the same problem. To suggest that I re-scan the image doesn't help - my mobile isn't giving me any function to do this. The support isn't helpful and I'm not getting anywhere. It seems the app has never served any useful purpose - I'm thinking of just removing it.

Tap the ‘+’ icon in the upper right corner.

Then add an account, in my case, LastPass

You should see a drop down menu with ‘Scan QR Code’

I have the app installed and my account set up per the instructions above. I have made sure the camera permissions for the app are enabled. I still have no "+" sign or dropdown menu to scan a qr code.

I've never heard of this app before, Microsoft just recently lead me into believing i needed it. I know why I've never heard of it and why I'm going to back my way out. Its cumbersome, even the installation is clumsy and feels like it tries to do too much and you're left with nothing except a feeling of being annoyed with Microsoft...again. In sum: this app SUCKS!

I had the same problem and kept searching for the "scan" option till I realized that for some reason I had disabled the camera access for the authenticator. As soon as I turned the camera access back on, the qr-code scan showed up right away when I clicked on the "+".
