A user has reported that the justify icon is missing from the Modify Style dialog box.  The other three icons are still showing (Left, Center, Right).  On my home computer I see all four.  What do I need to do to get the justify icon to show again in the Modify Style dialog box.  Thank you.

Microsoft Word 2019 MSO (16.0.10375.20036) 64-bit

Microsoft Windows Version 1909 (OS Build 18363.1621)

Thank you.

I believe that the Justify button may not appear in that dialog if there are, or have been, any Arabic languages installed, which is the case on my computers.

To add to what Charles has said, even if the Modify Style dialog doesn't have the Justify button, you should be able to access it by clicking Format and then Paragraph.

It was removed somewhere between Word 2003 and Word 2010, most probably with the advent of the 5 types of Justification:

    • Justified
    • DIstributed
    • Justify Low
    • Justify Medium
    • Justify High

I certainly don't think there's anything you can do. The best bet is for her to report this through the built-in feedback mechanism (Send Feedback). You might also ask whether this occurs in all documents or only those based on a specific template. Interestingly, though, I'm now seeing the same thing (just the three buttons) in the Modify Style dialog in Word 2013 (but not in Word 2010, which still has four).

    Hello,

My name is Charles Kenyon and I am an Independent Advisor in this forum . This forum is a user-to-user support forum. I am a fellow user with decades of experience using Microsoft Word. I have written extensively on using Word and have help articles on the Microsoft site.

Like you, I am seeing four.

As a workaround, the user can change the current text in the style to justified and then update the style to match the text.

Can you get a screenshot of the Modify Style dialog from the user and post it here? Here's how to post a screenshot:

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

(Per Bob Jones (aka Cybertaz), the parts about screen capture only apply to Windows. On the Mac you would use Cmd+Shift+4. See his screenshot for various shortcuts. https://filestore.community.support.microsoft.c... )

    I hope this information helps.

I like to also provide this link about Ransomware even though it has nothing to do with your question:
