When I close a Word 365 document with spelling and grammar already reviewed and open afterward, all the suggestions already checked appear again.

    Hi Guadalupe,

It seems like after I accepted/corrected all of the suggestions from Editor and made sure I got the 'finished reviewing' box as well. When I reopened the document, Editor won't show any suggestions about spelling or grammar.

You can have a test with creating a new document and make sure the similar issue won't happen again, or the issue may be related with Word application side and we may need to run Online Repair to fix it.

If the issue only happened on this document, as I found there have a lot of editions on that, it is suggested to save a new copy after you finish all reviews.

Also, it is suggested to post a thread in Spanish category as engineers here have limited resources and I only tested with English language. And let engineers here further confirm if the issue is related with specific language in a document and cause some bug with Editor.

    Best Regards,

    Mia

    Thanks Stefan.

The problem is that not all the choices appear in the document after I saved and reopened it. The choices in the language selected for the review are ok; but not those for tradenames, chemical names, own names, etc.

Thanks for your time and explanations.

I always click in the pop-out window when the review is finished, then select in Language option the box Do nor review spelling and finally save the document (I always work in local documents).

I will give a deep look at point 3, maybe there is the trouble, or in the selection of languages.

Sometimes the problem appears not the first that I reopened it but 2 or 3 times after.

I send you a screenshot of a document previously reviewed and saved that shows the problem when I reopened it. The words that appear not reviewed are those of names of persons, companies, trademarks, etc.

    Thanks for your support

    Guadalupe

Initially, I assumed that ignoring something that was flagged by the spellchecker would only be temporary. However, if you saved the document successfully, the choice should be saved with the document, until you click the Recheck Document command at File > Options > Proofing.

    Hi GuadalupeFrigolet,

Welcome to Microsoft Community and I'm glad to help.

Based on the description, it seems like when you reopen a document, all the suggestions under Editor window will show up again even you have reviewed all of them. If my understanding is correct, kindly check following details with some results in my tests just now.

**1.**After reviewing all spelling and grammar errors in my document, I got a pop-out window saying I have finished reviewing all of suggestions in Editor. When I closed the document and reopened it again, the texts were all correct.

    Image Image

**2.**However, when I double tested with a local document instead of a document with AutoSave feature, when I reviewed all suggestions in Editor and tried to close the document, there would pop out a window asking me if I want to save changes.

    Image

If I click 'Save', the texts are good when I reopen it. However, if I click 'Don't save', the behavior described in your original post will appear. The mistyping errors will be there when I reopen the document.

**3.**Based on the official article: Check grammar, spelling, and more in Word - Office Support (microsoft.com). If you click Ignore Once or Don't check for this issue, the errors may appear after the document is reopened. See the screenshot:

    Image

    Hence, please check

1.If the 'finished reviewing' box popped out, which confirmed you reviewed all the suggestions.

2.If the document is saved online, make sure the edited contents have been synced to online successfully before you closed the document. If the document is saved in local environment, make sure you clicked 'Save' button in the 'save changes' box.

3.Make sure you didn't click Ignore Once or Don't check for this issue.

Appreciate your time and patience on checking my reply and do feel free to post back if you have any other concern, I will be here for you to resolve the issue.

    Best Regards,

    Mia
