Word freezes when printing to pdf.

Word freezes when trying to print to pdf. All programs are updated and I've fixed errors in Word. I've tried copying into a new document. I've also tried copying into a new document without formatting. As soon as I add a text box in the unformatted document it freezes again. I have had much larger documents with many more pictures and formatting print to pdf without a problem. I can save the file to adobe pdf, but cannot print to it. I can also save the file as an xps.

Help. I don't want this issue to pop up with another document.

I tried the MS Print to pdf option. It worked sometimes. I tired it two different documents several times. The second time Word freezes.

Please try one of the alternative methods to print to PDF, for example the built-in Microsoft Print to PDF driver.

This will clarify if the printing issue is with the document or if it is with your current conversion method.

    Hi Sabrina,

Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the community, I'm glad to offer help.

According to your description, please try to perform an Online Repair to check the outcome: Repair an Office application - Office Support (microsoft.com)

If the issue persists after repairing, could you please check whether the problem occur in other Office apps such as Excel or PowerPoint?

    Looking forward to your feedback.

    Best Regards,

    Arck

How are you printing to PDF? Is this Adobe Acrobat?

Do you encounter the same problem if you use the Microsoft Print to PDF built-in PDF converter/printer?

And if you use Word's built-in ability to save as a PDF, then what happens?
