Background in Word Online

Hello,

I was wondering how to change the background in my Word document to an image. I have tried putting an image on the document and putting it behind the text, but it will not expand to fit the whole page. It does expand when I set all margins to 0", but that is not helpful because I don't want my text to be at the edge of the page.

Thank you.

Alexandra

    Hello,

Unfortunately, since I am on Word Online, I do not have the Design tab. I have attached an image showing what my tabs look like. Since I am on a Chromebook, I cannot get the Word app. However, I do have the Office extension and the Office app (from the Play Store), if that helps.

    Thank you.

    Alexandra,

You can do this by going to the design tab on the ribbon. Navigate to Page Color in the Page Background section on the right side of the ribbon. Select Fill Effects from the dropdown. Select Picture on the new pop up and you will be able to upload a picture. You could also go to Watermark and then Custom Watermark. Here you can add an image like before, but you will be able to adjust the scale in a limited way.

    I hope this helps!
