Office 365 - Powerpoint: where is the Remove Background function?

Title. I need to make the backgrounds of pictures transparent, and I usually use the Magic Wand or Remove Background feature.

I have a subscription to Office 365, and I'm finding it's like a "lite" version of the actual program with not all the features. I have a full desktop version of Powerpoint (have been using it for years) and know of the feature. For the life of me I can't find the Remove Background function in Powerpoint.

Community forums don't seem to have any info on it, and the Microsoft store has addons and apps for the Remove Background feature. Has it really been removed from Powerpoint that I need a 3rd party app to do it?

An Office subscription gives you access to two different versions of PowerPoint, the desktop version, which still has all of the usual features, and a web version, which is definitely PowerPoint-Lite.

Please be sure to use the desktop version.

    Hello Warrant2000

Hi, I'm Karl and will be happy to help you today.

The following article describe the steps involved. While the focus of this article is on Powerpoint 2019 - it applies equally to Powerpoint 365, (I just rechecked this using the latest version of '365)
