Hello All,

I have a problem when writing Mongolian Traditional in web version of MS Word.

Text direction of traditional Mongolian is vertical left to right Text direction TDright.svg. After installing Mongolian (Traditional) on Windows language setting, I can set the text display to "Vertical for Mongolian" on MS Word 2019. But I cannot find the same option on the web version of Word.

  • Question : Is it possible to use "Vertical for Mongolian" text direction (Vertical, Left To Right) in Web version of Word?

Thank you for your help!

Hi WoEugene,

From your post, I understand you wanted to change the direction of the text using "Vertical for Mongolian" in Word for the web, I would like to mention that text direction feature is not available in Word for the web, it is only available in the Word desktop app. This is one of the many differences between web and desktop version of Word.

Reference: Simple table creation

For now, we can only suggest you use Word desktop application to change text direction. In this regard, we will suggest you send the feedback to the related team. The quickest route to our developers’ ears is right from within Office for the web. In Word for the web, select Help > Feedback. This will have more impact as the feedback is coming directly from the customer.

Reference: How do I give feedback on Microsoft Office?

We appreciate your understanding and co-operation.

Kind regards,

Neha
